Celebrating mydad’s birthday this year, for the first time without him still here with us, has left me reflecting more on him as a person and a father and grandfather.  A story I have about dad is him taking me and my brother, Kevin, to see giant sequoia trees in California on my 12th Birthday.  At the age of twelve I had no interest in looking at big trees on my special day, though to his credit they were quite a sight!  s I write this now, I’d love nothing more than another chance to visit those trees with him again.  He had a sense of adventure and a love of learning and exploring the world that I will never forget, and those are parts of him I hope to always carry within me too.

my favorite memory with dad was going to all the different sporting events.  we had a blast every game and he loved watching logans sporting events.
