Lasonya...you were always such an inspiration to me on so many levels. I will never forget the laughs we laughed, the tears we shed and all of our times we shared on "our platform" over at the credit union. You are the true meaning of the word beautiful. Rest in peace my friend.

I met you years ago at the Credit Union and you were always so kind and helpful. I was shocked to learn that you had passed. I am SO sorry that I didn't have the chance to see you in the last few years. I recall how much you loved Aron. My heart goes out to him and your family.

LaSonya...a beautiful person inside and out. Your dedication to life, family and work will long be remembered. You were someone people noticed immediately when you entered a room. I will miss your humor and smile. Rest in peace with God and the angels.

LaSonya, you were more than a co-worker to me. You were a true friend and confidant. As we sat side by side of each other for some many years, we knew more about each others lives then our families. I will miss you and you will always hold a dear place in my heart. Rest in peace.

Gods Plan

Shared by Emma Randolph on September 19, 2011

I know that God has a plan for us all.  We just don't know how it will play out.  Every person that you meet has some signifigance in your life.

Sonya was brought into my life by my nephew and her husband Aaron.  I had the pleasure of planning their wedding.  What a beautiful wedding it was.  What a gorgeous bride she was.  She knew just what she wanted.  She really made my job as wedding planner easy.  I have never seen two people happier than LaSonya and Aaron in the union of marriage.

I had the opportunity and the blessing of spending part of a day with Sonya  3 days before her passing.  She was on my heart.  I couldn't let another day go by without saying to her that I loved her.  God granted me that day.  Thank you Lord.

I took her daises in colors that reminded me of her..bright yellow ..for the sunshine in her smile...lime green..for her gigling sort of laughter..and fusia..for the compassion that I saw in her heart.  I got to hold her, kiss her, and to tell her that I loved her.  She gave me a smile and asked for some water so that she could talk to me.  Weakly ,she said "hi Auntie".  She took a yellow daisy in her hand and brought it up to her nose and said "they're beautiful".

She told me that she loved me too.  Then she closed her eyes as I recited the 23 Psalm.

I will be in New York City for her homegoing, however, I know that God had a plan for us from beginning to end.

I would like to give special thanks to my nephew Aaron for letting that day happen and to say thank you for bringing Sonya into my life.  I love you both sooooo much.

I will miss Lasonya

Shared by Maria Haley on September 19, 2011

I first meet Lasonya in 2003.  We both worked for Allegent Community FCU FKA Allegheny County Federal CU.  Since then we have been friends.  I'm going to miss having our girls nights out when we would go to Red Lobster and have a few drinks.  She was always a good friend to me and I was a good friend to her.  I know that I may have not known her as long as many but I can call her her my friend.  After her first battle with Breast Cancer and she came back to work she brought everyone a gift.  I told her she didn't have to do that but I appreciated the gift as well as the card; both of what I still have.  I remember when she told me she had breast cancer again; I was very worried for her.  I'm glad that she fought it, just wish the outcome would have been better.  I will miss her and I love her dearly.  As I sit her and type this tears are just coming out, and I know she is in a better place.  I will continue to pray for all of us family and friends.
