Dear Julian and all of Laura's Family: May you hold your own memories of Laura with a gentle tenderness and kindness that supports her fierce love for you. May Laura's continuing love for you comfort you and fill your hearts with love and smiles -- may her love for you, as is God's love for you, be a guiding star whenever, wherever, however you need it. My heart, thoughts and prayers are in community with you -- I am sending lots of love your way. May you be calm and at ease, comforted and deeply peaceful.

Remembering: Even though I miss her so much, on this evening, my memories of Laura bring joy and happiness to my heart. I'm so thankful she and I were friends and that we were able to spend so many happy, carefree days playing together as we grew up in West Point, GA. I fondly remember a magic show we created one afternoon at her house (our standing egg trick was the best!); sharing a tent at summer girl scout camp where we wrote letters home, rode horses, enthusiastically sang all the crazy camp fire songs each night ("...way down upon the Swanee River, that's where the bad bees gooooooo"....), obsessed over our make-shift Hawaiian costumes for the camp's hula night party. I remember happy school days, too: Springwood classes (4th grade to 12th grade), anchor club activities and being proud that my friend made such a wonderful cheerleader! Proms and prom breakfasts that the parents hosted. Graduation and grad parties and festive progressive dinners. And Laura's Bridal Tea -- how beautiful! What a lovely party that tea was to honor, support and celebrate Laura, highlighting that important time in her life as she prepared for her marriage and starting a new family of her own -- I'm so glad that her family and friends from our close knit caring community were able to celebrate that special day with her. Today, I celebrate Laura and the beautiful angel that she is. The sparkling love she showered on us while she lived among us is a powerful legacy that continues to nourish our lives in many quiet ways -- it's now our turn to find ways each day to nourish all who cross our paths with many loving kindnesses!

Julian and Jim,

We are so sorry to hear of Laura's passing. We know that this is a very difficult time for you, and our thoughts are with you. We wish we had been able to attended the services, but we are now living in Peachtree City, and we only heard the news yesterday. Oliver and Meghan will always be close to Thomas, and we miss him coming up to the house, as he did when we were neighbors. He is a special and pleasant child, and friend of the family. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for him, or for you. We know that it will take time for you to heal and we will be thinking of you both.

Dear Mr. Kap and Miss Marianne and the Beall family, I was so sorry to hear of Laura's death last night. Laura was always so kind and genuine to me when we were in school together at Springwood (I know that came from you, Mr. Kap and Miss Marianne). I am sorry that I will be unable to make it to her funeral, but I will be praying for you all during the time of the service tomorrow. I know that as with every loss, there will be times when an ache will come into your hearts, but I also know that you will give that to the Lord as you always have. He will be with you and comfort you always. I also know that there will be joys that you will cherish in your hearts when you think of Laura. Because of living here in Duluth, Georgia, I did not get to see people in West Point much until the situation with my parents came up, but I did see Laura at the restaurant a couple of years ago. May God Bless You and Keep You. Much Love, Carol Hamrick

Laura cultivated love and light every moment of her life; she shared this loving kindness and God's love to everyone in so many quiet, beautiful ways. Even that bright, joyful sparkle in her eyes always transmitted her care to everyone who happened upon her path. I treasure the friendship that Laura and I shared as we grew up in West Point and our school days at Springwood together. What a gift we have all been given to have known her and spent such wonderful times with her! Laura continues to be a beacon of loving kindness and a light of strength and grace for us even now. Thank you Laura, Thank you so much for all you have contributed to our lives and our community and for all of your love and friendship -- I miss you, we will all miss you. May you be happy and joyful in heaven swaddled with God's Loving kindness from all directions.

Julian, Mr. Kap, Miss Mary Ann and to all of the Duncan and Beall families, I extend my deepest sympathies to you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time. I send you love and light from my heart to yours -- I wish I could be there in person to comfort you. May you be Comforted. May you be calm and at ease as God and his angels swaddle you in their Love and Light -- May you always know loving kindesses from all directions and may you always have helping hands whenever and wherever you need them.

Much love to you always --

Laura was devoted to her family without exception. To her children, husband, siblings and parents: The loss is tremendous and the void will never be filled. Focus on the good things she loved and push back the trials of the horrible disease. Let her love and her light and her laughter remain with you for the remainder of your days. She was a sweet person and rarely complained about anything. She was loved by all who knew her. I was blessed by her ability to take tough situations and improve life for those around her. She blessed me. My prayers are with her family now.
