Claudia, Monica and I have learnt of Lori's farewell to life with great sorrow. We remember Lori as a genuinely sweet and generous auntie and sister-in-law who welcomed us in her home a few years ago and then lovingly kept in touch despite life had separated our families. We will always love you, Lori!

My dearest Mamacitalinda. You have left such an incredible legacy that no single person could ever fathom. God used you in countless lives and you showed such deep love to all that you knew. You were a friend to young and old, the tattered or high-class, the lovable and the unlovable. Beauty filled your heart and sparkled from your eyes, your smiles would light up a room and bring laughter and joy to all around you. I have never known a more generous person - you gave even when you did not have enough for yourself, you always had time for people that needed you, the many quilts you have given and countless gifts that were from your heart.
Thank you for teaching me about Christ. Thank you for being a constant example of a true Christian is. Thank you for being my hero in so many ways. I love you with all of my heart and I miss you more than you can imagine, but I am reassured that you are experiencing the most unbelievable joy and look forward to the day when I get to praise our glorious Savior together with you.

I love you so deeply and I will cherish your memory and legacy for as long as I live.

A brief collection of Lori's impact on others from Robyn's Facebook wall:

"What a precious blessing that our Lord put your beautiful mom in our lives!! We will cherish every memory and will miss her so much. Please know we love you and your dad and are holding you so close to our hearts and in our prayers."

"All our love to you and your family. My mother loved her so much."

"Praise God for her legacy."

"Your mama was one of the sweetest people I have ever known."

"I only met her once but was so drawn to her smile and kindness."

"Yes, these are the bitter sweet moments for us here on earth. But, as simple as it sounds, our loss is heaven's gain. It was Dawn and my privilege to be with you, your dad, and family shortly before your mom slipped into eternity. We will always remember it was your mom who made it possible for our mission, Friendship International to begin a ministry in her country of Chile. God will only know the results of her desire to have her people hear about Jesus through Friendship International. We will be praying for your family at this time of your loss."

"i am so honored to have called Lori friend and to have know her."

"Robyn, you have always been such an inspiration to me with your love for the Lord & your kind, sweet ways. When I met your mom when she & your dad volunteered at Compassion I saw the same beauty in her that I had always seen in you. A beauty only God can give! She was so sweet & kind &, like you, walked closed to the Lord. She has left you and your family a beautiful legacy - a legacy that will be with you in your heart and soul as you walk on this earthly path without her. She will live on through you & your family & will never be forgotten. I can see her at the portals of Heaven now worshiping the Lord she loved on this earth. I know He held her close in His arms as he spoke the words "Well done my good and faithful servant." I know how broken-hearted you are now & how you will be for a long time to come because I've also lost a mother who was so dear to me. The Lord will give you strength to go on & what a blessing those precious memories of your mom will be to you through the days & years ahead! My heart breaks over your loss, Robyn, and my prayers will be with you and your family! God keep you strong in His love!"

"I am so sorry for your grief but rejoicing for your precious mother. She was one of my best friends for years even when we didn't see each other often"

(Translated from Spanish) "Aunt Laura, beautiful, special, the Lord welcomes you into his heavenly kingdom. Your life has been exemplary, blessing for many, because your smile always lit up every space giving love and hope. Through your hands blessed did wonders you shared with love and tenderness, taking advantage of teaching in a friendly manner about the love of our beloved Savior. I'll miss you but I am alive and strong delusion that we'll meet up and the pains of this life will be a thing of the past, and we will enjoy the splendid glory of our beloved God, eternal and merciful. Aunt while we meet again, enjoy what's still to me is a beautiful hope. I love you."

"Praying for you and your family during this time of loss. We all so dearly love Lori and all her Friday friends express send their love as well."
"Your mom was an amazing woman and I was blessed to know her."

"She was a wonderful lady . and I see you (Robyn) following in her steps ... holding to the Lord."

from the Book of Common Prayer:
O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister, Laura Saavedra Dell. We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Lord blessed us with many years of making memories as college friends, brides, new mothers, raising our kids, and encouraging each other in the faith. She will be missed, and we mourn - though not as those who have no hope. We will get together again at the wedding supper of the Lamb, who loved us and gave himself for us.

Dear sweet Lori, we will so miss your smile and enthusiastic dedication as a fellow Compassion International volunteer -- you and David were an inspirational couple as you served the Lord by serving the least of His! We also offer our sincere congratulations on running the race so valiantly -- and attaining the prize of Heaven!

I am so thankful to have been blessed by our friendship. You were always helping me with something. Keeping me focused on God being good all the time. Helping me at work as my backup when we were working the old processes at Compassion. And even talking about sewing and quilting. You were my light and I miss you terribly. Until we see each other again.
