Granny's Middle Name, Nona

March 30, 2021
Nones (/ˈnoʊnz/), also known as None (Latin: Nona, "Ninth"), the Ninth Hour, or the Midafternoon Prayer, is a fixed time of prayer of the Divine Office of almost all the traditional Christian liturgies. It consists mainly of psalms and is said around 3 pm, about the ninth hour after dawn. Nonna is the Italian word for grandmother. Nonnina is a term of endearment meaning "little grandmother." Occasionally, nonnina will be shortened to nonni, but nonni is also the word for grandparents plural!

It was right around 3:00 PM when I had Granny removed from her previous nursing home where she was being treated like a Prisoner of War. They forced her to get Covid19 by placing her in the Covid19 hall even though she had tested negative, time and time again. She was then taken to the hospital and then placed at a new facility where she later passed away due to a weakened immune system and a long battle with cancer.

Fun Visit at Granny's house as a child.

Granny used to sing loudly, She would also say funny things like, Bless 'em all, and Grody oh do do!

When she had money, she would spend it on her grandkids.
This is a picture of her daughter Betty, grandson  Kenny, granddaughter's, Sherri and Sybil.
Granny used to take us places like La Mansion for brunch, dinners downtown on the River Walk, Aquarena Springs, and Natural Bridge Caverns. She once took me on a shopping spree for school clothes and I thought I was on cloud nine.

She was Still Sassy and Still Kicking Assy!

In November of 2019 at Thanksgiving, she was diagnosed as having a "Rare" form of Pneumonia before Covid19 was announced in December of 2019. She then contracted Covid19 again in February of 2021. The doctors were amazed that she did not suffer the Covid19 symptoms.
