Laura Jean Forbord was born on April 12, 1936, in Boy River, Minnesota to parents Orin Martin and Olive Lacrussa (Brown) Forbord. On June 2, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ernest Ingvald Knutson. She and Ernest moved to Spooner from Chippewa Falls in 1964. Laura worked for Rawn Chemical, which later became Cortec, from 1966 until her retirement in 1999. Laura's family was the most important thing in her life, but she also enjoyed gardening, canning, and going to garage sales. She will be remembered as a fabulous cook, playing golf, of which she was self taught, and being a card shark, being involved in up to 4 bridge groups at one time.
