This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, we will remember her forever.

Lauren K. Speckl (nee Hine), AKA “SPIKE,” passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 surrounded by family at VNA Hospice in Vero Beach, Florida.

Lauren was born and raised in Parma Heights, Ohio and has lived in Sebastian, Florida for the past 21 years. She was born on June 10, 1946 to the late Richard and Virginia Hine.

Lauren graduated from Valley Forge Senior High School in Parma Heights., Ohio in 1964.

Lauren was a loving, generous, devoted wife, mother, grandmother (O’ma), aunt, friend and mentor to many.

She loved her “girls” (cats), Dorothy and Sophia.

Her passions, gifts and talents were abundant and diverse: avid artist, clowning, bonsai tree enthusiast, and beach lover.

She will be missed dearly by her beloved husband, Joe, of 53 years; her loving children, Lisa (Rob) Mullins, (Middleburg Hts., Ohio), David (Cheryl) Speckl, (Longmont, Colorado); grandchildren, Zachary (Tiffany) Thomas, Vanessa Thomas, Ryan Speckl, Kelly Speckl and Caitlin Speckl, Emilee (Kyle) Oliva; and great granddaughter, Everlee River.

I am so sorry for your loss. Death at any age is hard to deal with. But when one was busy with life it can be hard to grasp how they are no longer around. Even when life is fading away and we want them to be at peace with no more suffering the idea that , they are no longer with us is uncomfortable. I hope that God's promises that just like we can write memorials to keep a person's memory alive, He has them in His memory and will wake them up so they can once again enjoy our company and life on earth. Only with out sickness and death because those things will be no more Revelations 21:3,4

Thank you. Your devotion to your sister Linda, my mom, in her time of need was something I will never forget. You dressed as a clown for my son when he returned from the hospital, seems you would do anything to bring a laugh for those who needed it the most. Just a few memories. I wished I could have thanked you one more time, another reminder to me as I grow older, those you love and are grateful for ....may not be there tomorrow. Thanks again, for being our mom for awhile after we lost ours!

Lisa and family, what a cavernous loss it is to lose someone so full of passion! Lauren loved deeply and it was so obvious when you spent even just a little bit of time with her. I have precious memories of having tea with her and being welcomed into her home like another daughter and messaging back and forth excitedly about the birth of her new great granddaughter!!
I cannot believe she is gone. I am so sorry for the pain and loss you all feel but pray that your memories and love of each other sustain you as you move forward as she would want you to do.
Love to you all. xxoo

Her Life

Angels

January 19, 2019

Lauren carried around 4 angels in her purse representing her father, (Richard, “Dick”), her mother, (Virginia, “Ginny”), her younger sister, Debbie, and her older sister, Linda.

The last 2 days of her life, (January 15 & January 16, 2019), she literally clung to her angels- she grasped them in her right hand.

We believed those who went before her were guiding her “home.”

It’s hard  to believe that it’s already been 2 months!

Not a day goes by that we don’t think of you!!

Sooo many times I’ve thought of calling you... instead I call dad and hear about his day. Every single conversation includes you!! Dad misses you tremendously and is taking care of things for you- you’d be proud! Zac and Tiffany are expecting their little boy this coming Tues., 3/19. We know your goal was to be here for his arrival, but we are assured that you’ll have a heavenly front row seat and will cheer on his enterance!!

Love you more than words can say and miss you so tremendously much!!!!

Until our heavenly reunion- paint us some landscapes!

Lisa xoxo

Goodbye Prayer

January 23, 2019
At 11:30 a.m. last Wednesday, January 16, 2019, my dad, (Joe), David, Rob and I circled around my mom in Hospice and said The Lord’s Prayer- immediately after mom mouthed “Amen,” then went to be with her Heavenly Father! Hard to believe it’s been a week already! She is our angel!! Love you mom, Lisa xo
