Laurie Morin Snitko, 49, of Scottsdale/Rio Verde, Ariz., passed peacefully to be with the Lord Friday, May 3, 2013, in Phoenix.

She was born on Nov. 27, 1963, in St. Ignace, to William (Bill) and Shirley Morin.


Laurie lived in Petoskey until 1982 when she moved to Scottsdale, Ariz.

Laurie was a loving mother to her son, Connor.

She was a huge advocate of Special Olympics. She was compassionate to everyone she came in contact with and was always willing to help. She was athletic and loved snow as well as waterskiing, hiking mountains, the beaches and lakes. She was vibrant and had a smile for everyone. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.

She is survived by her son, Connor Snitko; mother, Shirley Lordson; sister, Jeannie Hoffhines; and brother, Bill Morin; as well as stepbrother and -sister, Todd Lordson and Tuesday Brighton; and all their families.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Morin, and stepfather, Allen Lordson.

Laurie will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

A service to celebrate Laurie's life will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, at Genesis Church located at 13625 N. 32nd Street, Phoenix, Ariz. 85032.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Laurie to Hospice of The Valley or Special Olympics.
