Bob
Just wanted to check in with you. I think of you often and hope you are adjusting to your new life on the other side. Miss you
I can't believe your gone. You were the other mother to my daughter Dezi and I will be forever thankful for you being in our lives. You treated Dezi like your own daughter. Dezi and I miss you so much. You were actually her mother for about one third of her life through really difficult times. As I write this I am brought to tears again. Thank You Love always Debbie
On this day of sorrow, We all miss your presence,
Forever in our hearts, That's where you'll always be, Remembered for your smile, And your genuine loving care. For now we say, See you soon, Because you'll never be gone, Always in our hearts forever on.
Rest In Peace Laurie

and a cure was not meant to be,
So he put his arms around you
and whispered "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you,
...as we saw you pass away.
Although we loved you deeply,
we could not make you stay.
Your Golden Heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

moma Laurie & I
When I met Laurie, While I was a prison work release program and she gave me my first job. She believed in me when I did not know how to believe in myself. Laurie swept me under her wings and taught me how to be a responsible productive member of society again. I have not used drugs or alcohol in 13 1/2 years. or found it necessary to go back to jail or prison. Because of your love, kindness and guidence I am a better person, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I cannot thank Laurie, Guy or the Shortline Express family enough for what they done for me. when a person looks up friend in websters your picture should be right next to it. Laurie was there every step of the way with me. My first apartment, getting my kids back, my birthdays, holidays, my bridal shower, and wedding. I went on my first real vacation with the shortline family and My moma Laurie. Your will always be moma to me I love you know and always. I miss you dearly. Thank you my friend for everything. Love always Val Brass- Dunford
A True Motivator
I met Laurie in 2008 so compared to some, not very long. Within 2 months of working as a clerk in her store she asked if I wanted to move up in the company. In 5 months time I was promoted to assistant manager. I didn't think I even wanted to stay in C-stores! She has been pushing me and pushing me to work out my drivers license issues with "It's holding you back!" and "Think of the freedom". Any time I needed a ride home from work even if she was on the other side of town she was there. Thanks to her I'm driving myself now! She taught me a lot about managing a store and thanks to Laurie I will be confident when the time comes. I don't know who I will call now when I can't figure something out, its been my first instinct to text or call her. I will miss Laurie!
