Lawrence Lee
Oxford, 75, passed away December 16, 2020 in his home surrounded by family.
Larry was born April 9, 1945 in El Monte, California to the late Nadine and Lynn
Oxford. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nadine and Lynn Oxford and his
sister, Nikki Oxford. Larry leaves to cherish his memory his best friend,
companion, secretary, banker, love of his life, his wife of 22 years Laura Oxford; his
son, Tim Decaire; his two caring dogs, Ms. Mollie and Ms. Oakley; his mother
and father in-law, Hector and Deloris Lucier; his sister and brother in-laws,
Anita (Les) LaFramboise, Annette Lucier, Antoinette (Bill) Simone, Geraldine
(Gordon) McCauley, Jim (Brenda) Lucier, Cathy (Gary) Ouellette, Rose May
Medler, and John (Laura) Lucier; and dear friends Terry (Judy) Garlew and Jim, Sherry and Kyle; along with
a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Larry will
be greatly missed by all who knew him. He served in the United States Navy as a
Lieutenant for 22 ½ years. He worked with the aging community in Texas and
South Carolina for 15 years. Larry was in medical administration in various prison
hospitals in South Carolina and Florida. He was a ranger and swing bridge
operator at Hunting Island in South Carolina for 7 years. Everywhere he went he
had a coffee cup attached to his hand. Larry enjoyed wood working and leather
working, fishing, and more than anything loved to talk and share stories about
his travels in the Navy. He was always the one talking in the room and everyone
loved listening. Larry enjoyed relaxing in his recliner with his girl Ms.
Mollie.
The family
of Larry Oxford would like to express thanks to the Hospice of Dayton staff,
the team of doctors at Wright Patterson Air Force base who cared for Larry continuously
including, his oncologist, Dr. Andreca; the nurses, Cindy, Dee, and Jennifer;
his rheumatologist, Dr. Bartholomew; his pulmonologist, Dr. Bergman; his kidney
specialist, Dr. Siva. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of
Dayton. A service to honor Larry’s life to be announced at a later date.
