Shirls ....the Love of your Life ....Larry.....
I am so, so, so sorry for your loss and his family's loss too...everytime I have met with Larry, lounging on the beach, chatting, laughing, drinking wine or out for dinner he was always so jolly and content.
Shirls I know he turned your life upside down (in the nicest possible way) and you had the type of loving relationship that some people don’t experience in a lifetime. I am sure you feel like you are living but that you are not alive now either. It’s as though as you are in love but with no one to love right now. I still cannot believe he has gone. You all have many GREAT MEMORIES to continous live on with and laugh about.
RIP Larry.....
Great Friend and colleague
I just heard the sad news form a common colleague from Larry's and I.
I always remembered Larry as a great boss and friend while he was at Montreal Trust.
Working with Larry was a pleasure and not a chore. Great human being that cared about his colleagues as friends.
Larry always had a kind word for everyone and I never met anybody that disliked him.
I am sure, that we eventually will be all together and have a chance to remember the good times we spend together in the short time we spend here. I will always remember Larry and he always will have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace my friend.
I first met Larry in about 1968 when he returned from Canada and came to work at IBM Jamaica. As we both worked in the Data Centre, me in Operations and Larry in Quality Control, often sharing long hours at work, including a few all-nighters, it wasn't long before we became fast friends.
I met Donna on her very first visit to Jamaica, and I recall the three of us driving to Montego Bay for the Easter weekend in Larry's mother's Austin - Good Clean Fun!
We shared many an adventure over the next 6 or 7 years and somehow managed to lose touch thereafter, for no good reason. I never really "missed" Larry since then but, ironically, since learning of his illness and, subsequently, his "graduation", I've been missing that guy terribly - and I suspect I will for some time to come.
I wish for Larry's family, strength of spirit and comfort in the fact that he touched so many lives positively; and may his soul rest in everlasting peace.
