His Life

Lee Cook - Little Drummer Boy

September 14, 2012

Lee was the most wonderful son and I miss him every day, The pain just won't go away and there are no answers to any of our questions as to why this has happened.

Lee was able to relate to people of all ages and was loved by many. From his friends and family to school mates to the old ladies on his paper round to the actors at the local amature dramatic society. He touched many people with his huge smile, kind persona and sense of humour.

The day he was born was the happiest day of my life, the day he passed was the saddest.

He was born in 1992 and attended Cashes Green Primary School and Randwick Cubs. He passed the entry exam for Marling Secondary School and played football for Minchinhampton. He was a huge motorsport fan - especially formula one and supported Leeds United FC. We enjoyed playing video games, watching movies, walking the dogs and eating out.

Like me, Lee was a petrol-head and cars / motorsport / racing was a huge part of our lives. Following the careers of Damon Hill and Jenson Button very closely he was a huge fan and we went to Silverstone twice to see them on Friday practice. He played the drums and was getting to a very high standard. He would come to Lonesome Crow band practices with me and play the odd song or two. We even made an appearance at Nailsworth Comrades Club along with my brother, Billy, performing Rock Show by Blink 182. We called ourselves Cook 2 and a half.

The only thing that keeps me going is my beautiful daughter, Jade. She has just passed her driving test and started her first job. We are so proud of her and Lee would be proud too. He loved her very much and they were the best of friends - which is historically odd for siblings!

Important events in Lee's life:

Leeds United v Aston Villa at Villa Park Birmingham.
Formula One practice days at Silverstone.
UK Leg of the WRC at Cheltenham.
Meeting Linkin Park at Cardiff.
Holidaying in Spain and visting Barcelona.
Playing the drums for The Stanley Players pantos.
