Leon Leslie Coles, 80, lifetime resident of Mullica Hill passed away on Oct. 17, 2017 at home.

Beloved husband for 55 years to Judith (nee Hoff), devoted father of Renee Coles-Lonczak  (Edmund J.) of Glassboro, Christine (the late Christopher) Lynch of Mullica Hill, Leon Leslie Coles, IV (Monique) of S. Harrison and Matthew L. Coles (Christin) of Pitman, loving grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 1. He was predeceased by his parents Leon Leslie Sr. and Laura Dorothy (Davis) Coles.

Mr. Coles was a lifetime mechanic with a passion for Mercedes. He founded Coles Garage Services, Inc, which became a social hangout for the folks in town, worked for Mobil Research for 33 years, and was a flag man when they opened Atco Raceway and active in the early drag racing scene in South Jersey. He loved dogs and the shore, but hated the beach.  When not working at Mobil, Lee could be found at the garage. His greatest pride and accomplishment in life was his grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted family man.

Visitation Mon. Oct. 23 from 9:30-11 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 284 Cedar Rd., Mullica Hill, NJ 08062, where services will begin at 11 am. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 N. Delsea Dr., Clayton, NJ 08312.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Coles' passing. In our conversations I could tell he really loved his family and showing me early pictures of his wife. I thank God our paths crosssed. He would laugh hearing me say that yet it is true. God bless you all.
