Dear Marilyn and Family,

We are sending our deepest sympathy for a dear man. Jude 1:2 says, “May mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.” This is our prayer for you.

Rodger wanted to share this photo of Leland and Dick Tuinstra wearing their Ohio/Michigan hats, taken just before they left Holiday Haven this year.

Love to all,
Rodger and Karen Drooger

Unfortunately, we only had the opportunity to stop and visit with Leland a few times after moving into the Holiday Haven Community. It was obvious that Leland was wonderful human being who loved his family and enjoyed people. We always felt welcome to stop and chat when he was sitting out on the patio. We will miss our visits and the chance to get to know him better.

Our Thought and Prayers go out to his Family…

Leland and I (Harold) had a great friendship.  We enjoyed ribbing each other about our State football team.  He was an avid “Buckeye” and I a “Wolverine”!  I got many a phone call reminding me that his “Buckeyes” had beaten my “Wolverines” and guess what his “Buckeyes” had a victory on the day he passed away.  Leland would be proud!  Bonnie and I are going to miss Leland and not ashamed to say we loved him and Marilyn.
God bless and Rest In Peace Leland,
         Harold & Bonnie Nagelkirk

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Lord, these days have hurt immensely losing Dad, but this is because we were blessed to have lived and shared many wonderful experiences with Dad (and Mom).  So thank you, Lord, for blessing us with a Dad who:
1) loved you
2) lived according to your truths
3) loved Mom
4) loved family
5) and constantly spooned out medicine of laughter
Thank you for guiding Dad (and Mom) in becoming part of the Holiday Haven family, a place where family relationships were enriched with experiences and wonderful friends next to your beautiful Lake Michigan.  So Lord, losing Dad hurts, but thank you for our times together and may we likewise love you, live according to your truths, love our spouses, love our family, love others and give of ourselves to make others laugh.
