Mom you are missed so very much. Missing your check in calls and of course ( hey its insurance payment time ) lol. One never knows the sacrifices that have been made to cherish the children you birth. I know and I'm forever grateful that GOD, allowed you to have me. You have been my backbone and still you are. Your love taught me much especially how to respect women. Your strength has gave me strength to be a protector of women near and far. Thank you mom and no regrets all LOVE! One more story. I was in elementary school, Winton Terrace Elementary School. And the day came...a substitute teacher!!! You know what that means, a chance to relax, chill, maybe even act up...only a little acting up though, Mom sometimes would show up and catch us. But this was the top of the morning, the start of class. I was grinning from ear to ear. My substitute turned around from writing on the board; my teacher...AUNT LELA. OMG! I said Aunt..., she cut me off and said shh, My name is Miss. Thomas. LOL, well no fun or goofing- off that day. she or course grinned. LOL

What I remember most about Aunt Leila is she always seemed to remember my name. She may have said Greg a time or 2 but that was rare. But if she referred me as the "oldest boy " it was only to help someone out in identification. I also remember seeing her attending Sister's memorial. I walked up to and we actually butted heads a little. That seemed to upset Jameel a little. I can't explain why I did what initially but the only word I heard come out of her mouth was my name. Reggie. When I take into consideration what she was going through and the fact we had not seen each other in years tells me that a spiritual matter occurred. So to my aunt, I will miss you, your leadership or "bossy" character that broad smile of yours and your presence. Get your well deserved rest. Godspeed.

Mommy,
It's been three years since you transitioned but it feels like yesterday. I still thank God that I get to talk to you on a daily basis.
Wish you could see the boys now.. DeMond is doing a fantastic job being a dad to the girls and Dennis is living his best life as a husband and extremely hard worker.
We all miss you very much Mommy!
And we love you still and forevermore

It seems like every time I saw Aunt Lelia she had a pencil and a crossword puzzle! Or, she had a pencil behind her ear ready to do a puzzle. Aunt Lelia was also one of those tough Scrabble competitors. I like the way she would sometimes smile from ear to ear in her "gotcha" moments - and if you could overlook the sting of the "gotcha" you can hear the message. You are missed, RIP Auntie!

Aunt Lela was always the aunt that had this little grin on her face, quick on her feet ready to crack a joke...never loud with it just enough for you to hear it. She'd beat you laughing. I kinda always thought she carried a lot of money in her purse, because her signature pose was one hand on her hip, the other hand had her purse slung over the back of her shoulder. I loved hearing her laugh, even when you zapped her back. RIP.
