Her Life

My Grandmother

May 13, 2014

Lena (Henah) Agracheva , my grandmother, the most influential person in my life. Dates: Nov 18 1932 – March 19 2014 , Born: Leningrad, Died: Ottawa
I was the luckiest person in the world to have had you in my life. I admire your love of life and positive outlook. You were a leader, a warrior: strong, wise, smart, calm and so so positive. Thank you for teaching me how to love and thank you for pouring into me an ocean of unconditional love.
I admire you for asking for a NEW computer for your 80th birthday. How you were learning English at 77 years old, for 4 hours a day, 6 days a week. Walking everyday for over 2 kilometers as long as you were able to. Knowing so much about the cultural world (and yet knowing how much little you knew) and being up to speed with current events till last seconds. How curious you were about everything closed by and far away.
And thank you for accepting people around you for how they were and who they were, without trying to change anyone. Thank you for loving us so strongly and unconditionally. Thank you for raising me.
