Mr. Leon "Buckwheat" Brooks of Lanett, AL passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at EAMC- Lanier.
Funeral: New Love Union Baptist Church
Saturday, June 17, 2017 Time: 1:00 PM,ET
Cremation will take place following the funeral service.
Ministers: Rev. Rodell Poole, Pastor, Rev. Tony Avery, Eulogist, Bishop Billy Avery, Rev. Darryl Jordan, Officiating.
The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 12(noon) until funeral hour.
The family may be contact at 902 North 14th Street, Lanett, AL.
M.W. Lee Mortuary of West Point is handling arrangements.

I miss your earthly present. However, I believe you are in a better place. Please tell our Heavenly Father to remember me. Then when you finish talking with him and go to your welcome home party, please say hello to the following people that will be there as well:
1. Tell my momma and daddy I said hello. Tell them I miss them and to stop by here and see me sometimes.
2. Tell grandma and Uncle fred I said hello. Tell them they are gone but never will we forget them.
3. If you see Momma and Daddy and Grand Daddy Jim X, tell them thank you for paving the way for my parents. Thank them for taking them on the tour of heaven.
I'll let you go now because, I believe there is a lot for you to see and places for you to go. Don't keep our big brother too long. Tell Him and the Comforter to hurry back because they are needed here. You are in good hands you have our Heavenly Father.....send the HELP BACK FOR us.

SIP my buddy Buck. You have touched so many lives including mine. You are now a Guardian Angel to watch over your family. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Peggy, Tara, Janine, Danielle, their husbands and the Grandkids, DeShaun, Tiara and Kayla. Buck was loved by all and will truly be missed.
