Leon Rutledge Jr. (JR) was born December 4, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio. JR was one of eight children born to his loving mother Betty Jean Rutledge-Jackson and his dedicate father, Leon Rutledge Sr.. Leon (JR) received his formal education from Dayton Public School system. He attended Roth High School.
Leon (JR) loved his children, grandchildren and his entire Family. In JR’s past time enjoyed spending time with his Rutledge Family Cookouts and Family Reunions. You would often catch him
hanging out with his cousins Joseph (Lil Joe) Rutledge Jr. & Calvin (Big Dav) Rutledge Jr.. Leon (JR) was employed at NCR in the maintenance department until his illness. He also was employed Rut’s Drive-Thru, where he worked alongside his cousin, Big Dav. Leon (JR) was the life of the party. He kept you laughing with a story. At the Rutledge Family Reunions and Family picnics, he was the one family member that volunteered and was always ready and available to help. Leon (JR) was a perfectionist when working. He did it and did it right.
Leon (JR) transitioned into his heavenly life on Friday, June 12, 2020 to join his mother Betty Jean Rutledge-Smartt, his father Leon Rutledge Sr., Aunt Margie Rutledge, cousin Jason Rutledge and his, maternal grandparents Leonard Jackson and Elizabeth Durant and his paternal grandparents Annie Middlebrooks-Rutledge and Crawford Rutledge.
Leon (JR) is survived by his children Annie & Kashion both of (Indianapolis, IN), Jamyala, Jamon, and Jeramaree Rutledge and Rotishia Thomas, and Grandchildren, Jaceon “King” and Mya Doir Rutledge. His siblings includes Charles F. Smartt (Los Angeles, California), Sean Rutledge (wife Sarah Marletta Brooks Rutledg), Deon, Real, Lil Gean, Murphy Lee Thomas, Derona Mattison and Jesse Flucas, all of Dayton, Ohio, Trish Ann Harris and Philemon Thomas,(Philadelphia, PA). Leon (JR) is also survived by his favorite uncle Calvin “Cat-Man” Rutledge Sr. and his favorite sister/cousin Toni Rutledge, (Los Angeles, California) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, friends and his Rutledge Family which he adored.
Leon (JR) is also survived by The Love of his Life, Special Friend/Life Partner, His Rollie, Bestfriend, Allison Jameison, who never left his side, spent countless hours with JR and never gave up on JR. She seen his recovery when the doctors, nurses and rehabilitation specialist didn’t. Allison never gave up on her baby JR. Allison, the Rutledge
