Leon joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.

Leon joined the army where he served two years in returning home he united in Holy matrimony to Gwendolyn Terry and to this union three kids were born.  He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Jarrett, mother, Lucile Jarrett, two brothers, Willie and Lester Jarrett.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Gwendolyn Jarrett; four children, Gregory (Dianna) Terry, Princess Denise Jarrett, Ebony Demitri Jarrett and Uashekqua King; three brothers, Lonnie (Yolanda) Jarrett,  Donald (Brenda) Jarrett and Gerald (Brenda) Jarrett; three sisters, Mea Francis (Larry) Hardnett, Dorothy (Amos) Pruitt and Geraldine Jarrett; six grandchildren, Ivory Lakia Turner, Tre Terry, Delvin Carter, Amir Lakes and Elliyah Jones; an aunt, Blanche Lee Stanley; a mother-in-law, Rochelle Stanley; one brother-in-law, Edward (Bobbie) Terry; and three sister-in-laws, Debra Denson, Theresa Denson and Jackie (James) Hudson; a special cousin, Sid Deloach, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
