Leonard Lee Dickerson, Sr., a longtime resident of Richmond, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 26, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Va.

A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Odis Dickerson and Nellie Gray Evans. He was a member of Jahnke Road Baptist Church in Richmond and was the owner-operator of Dickerson Painting and Wallpaper.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 PM, prior to the funeral, in the fellowship hall at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years Elvira Frederick Dickerson of the home, two daughters, Sharon Dickerson of Richmond and Lisa D. Moody of Midlothian, three sons, Terry Dickerson of Midlothian, Frankie Dickerson of Chesterfield, Wayne Dickerson (Tonja) of Moseley, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, Dot Brummitt and Betty Finch both of Oxford, a brother Odis Dickerson of Columbia, S.C. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Dickerson and a brother Robert Gray Dickerson.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, 1171 Hwy 158 W., Oxford, NC 27565.
