ForeverMissed
This memorial website was created in memory of our beautiful Leslie Chaves-Alvarez, 51 years old, born on August 11, 1969, who passed away on June 19, 2021.

A beautiful wife, an amazing mother/grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, BEST friend to many, but most of all a fearless warrior queen! The woman I had the honor of serving, loving & sharing EVERY single day with, YOU are the true testament of what ALL of the above titles mentioned mean. I LOVE YOU MY LOVE, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE  YOU, WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU… REST IN PEACE my angel. Evelyn, Noah and myself will be ok, we will miss you dearly… THANK YOU for the best years of our lives full of laughter, precious moments and memories. Thank you for the unification of so many of us, it was an honor and we were truly blessed to have experienced any moment with you! Those who know, know!

Please share a memory, a photo, or a message that we can share together. I would like to make a keepsake memory book to read these out loud at a formal memorial service we shall hold at a later date. Thank you in advance. Love, Farib, Evelyn, Noah and the Chaves-Alvarez family.

Oh No, I am so saddened. I see her smile, feel her energy and her quiet presence was always so positive. I am devastated! I remember , over 25 years ago, she sat in my office at FIT, with so many friends and LASO was born. So many fond memories, I pray for her family !

I was so saddened to hear Lizette had passed away, we were in college together in FIT and Lizette will always be such a strong part of my memories of some the the happiest and carefree times of our lives. Lizette always had this lovely, fun and very feminine and ladylike persona, she was so proud of Evelyn and I remember Evelyn coming in to model for us in life drawing class. It's hard to believe she has gone, I remember Lisette saying how she had known Farib from her neighbourhood and how she couldn't believe it took them so long to get together, she was so in love with him. May you rest in peace and love Lisette.

Leslie and I knew each other for 47 1/2 yrs, being neighbors for a good portion of our early lives. My birthday was August 9 and hers August 11. August 10 was special to us. The one day a year we were the same age.
She introduced me to my husband. She was in my wedding party. I was in hers.
She was impactful to me as she was with everyone.
Leslie and I were girl scouts together, and the little rhyme that she always lived by was "make new friends, and keep the old. one is silver and the other gold."
She is and always be gold. <3 I love you and miss you my dear friend. <3

I knew Lisette from my days at the Fashion Institute of Technology in the early 90's. We had a few exchanges on FB since and it was always lovely to reconnect. I am shocked and heartbroken to find out this tragic news. I have many memories of Lisette She was a kind and sweet soul. She laughed when I called her " The Queen" as one of our teachers called her that once at FIT while she had her sit in front of the class to pose for us and commented how beautiful and regal she was. She got a kick of me remembering that. She was truly beautiful inside and out and will live on in all the hearts she touched. May you rest in peace beautiful soul. Prayers and much love to the whole family.

I was at the Union Library with my twins for arts and crafts.  I was sitting there when Leslie came over and sat next to me and we starting talking.  I could tell she was a kind and caring person.  She was telling me about her grandson, Noah.  You could tell he was her pride and joy.  I'm so glad I got the pleasure of meeting her.  She had the most beautiful smile and such great aura.  RIP Leslie.

So many good stories with you Leslie.  Where to begin?
Those teen years hanging out around the neighborhood.   You were always the one to say "yes" let's go out and have a great big smile on your face ready to have fun.   I will treasure the memories of dancing with you at the clubs, hanging out chatting late into the night, and our many excursions.   I am forever grateful that our friendship stood the test of time, celebrating each other's marriage, girl's weekend in the city,  and our amazing trip to Cuba.   37 wonderful years of friendship till your very last breath.   I love you Leslie with all my heart, my sweet and kind friend.  Rest in peace now --- until we meet again.
