The day Leslie met my mom(again)  was almost exactly a year after my dad died. She was conflicted at first and unsure of if it had been long enough to actually love someone else. But Les showed my mom a different life, full of childlike wonder and love brimming from every pore in this man's body. She wanted to love him, he already loved her. After their first date together he knew, I think she knew too. It was the first date that never ended. After she met him they were inseperable, always together, always in love(even when it was hard). I cannot say that life was perfect, but it was the best 6 years of his life, he told my mom this. My other dad had problems, but we all do. I accepted him in my life, just as he accepted me with welcome arms in to his. He never wanted to take my daddy's place, he just always wanted to be there for me. And he still is, even in death, he's with me...his words play in my head... "Welcome to my world, Lisa Brown". His sloppy wet cheek kisses always a reminder of how much he really did care, how much he loved me.
