An adventure hike in Napanee (from Facebook)

March 13, 2023
Hi Jean, Yesterday I was out to Nappanee, it's about a hundred miles up the Lake from here, went on a hike along the most wonderful trail that I have ever seen, 3.2k long and took two hours to complete, its name was "Hell holes cave" trail was extremely difficult, sometimes climbing
valley slopes 45 degrees, and always walking between rocks, hard to find footing descended into a deep valley down about 60 stairs into the most fabulous rock formations one could imagine, seemed like great layers of rock piled one on top of the other about 70 feet high, all covered in beautiful green moss, it was just like something out of the stone age,
This was not a place for the timid and certainly not for the aged person
could not stop to rest for long due to swarms of black flies, so had to keep moving, when we reached the end of the trail my legs were all rubbery.
I enquired at the start cabin on the age of the oldest person ever to do this trail and was told that in 1995 a woman did it , she was 85 years old at the time, so I advised them of my age (88) and they proclaimed me the oldest person ever to complete the trail, thought you would like to know.
Would I do it again, not on your ruddy life.
