Her Life

Mrs. Wesley was born on Aug. 12, 1966, in Mexico, Missouri. She grew up in Missouri and the Bay Area of California. As a child, she was in a Mentally Gifted Minors Program and excelled, especially in creative writing. She learned to play violin and guitar and continued to play guitar throughout her life. As a child, she could be found writing poems, songs, stories and pretend plays. Her hobbies were sketching, singing and dancing. She won many singing competitions and performed in the Fremont Varieties Club from 1976-79. During high school, she held a part-time job and performed in a band with her brother Mark Chaney.

After marrying and moving to Casa Grande in the early 1990s, she worked at Hexcel Corporation. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and eventually met and married her second husband, David Wesley. After a layoff, they moved to Lynn, Missouri, and she became a nurse. The family moved back to Casa Grande and she worked as a nurse before becoming a full-time mother to her six children. She was known for her appreciation and passion for music, her quick-witted humor and her devotion to her children.

Survivors include three daughters, Ashley, Audry and Kalli Spade, all of Casa Grande; two sons, Dylan Spade and Joshua Wesley of Casa Grande; her parents, Russell and Joyce Chaney of Newcastle, California; two sisters, Natalie Hornibrook of Columbia, California, and Erin Chaney of Sacramento, California; two brothers, Mark and Kevin Chaney of Sacramento; and a grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and her mother, Patricia Chaney.
