Mr. Lessley Ervin Donaldson was the second son of three children born to the late Lessley and Velma Donaldson on October 30, 1957 in Palm Beach, Florida and departed this life on December 8, 2020 at the age of 63.

Lessley was a dedicated and faithful member of the Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Donald J. Brownlee, Sr. where he was ordained as a Deacon on March 29, 2015. He loved to sing and was a member of the Adult Choir, Male Chorus and the Brotherhood until his health failed. Lessley loved his church, his Pastor, the members and his duties of being a Deacon. He took all that seriously. But, most of all, he loved the Lord. He was an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan! Fishing was his hobby and he enjoyed spending numerous hours sitting in the hot sun waiting on the fish to bite with his brothers and friends.Lessley was a graduate of Dunbar High School Class of 1975 and was an Insulator with the Asbestos and Insulators Workers Local #50 from 1985 to 2008 and he was very proud of that.Lessley was a people person and loved being around them and conversing with them. He did not meet any strangers. He had a big heart, a heart of gold and was always telling you he loved you at the end of a phone conversation. All he wanted was to matter to his family, friends and to people.

Lessley was preceded in death by both his parents Lessley and Velma Donaldson. He leaves to cherish his memories of love and affection by his loving and devoted wife Joyce Donaldson; his son, Lessley Donaldson, Jr. (Emily Manson) of Frankfort KY; his daughter, Kenyatta (David) Brown of Dayton, OH; six grandchildren, Kylan Hall, Tomaz Donaldson, King David Brown, Leslyana Donaldson, Kiana Brown and Laila Donaldson; two brothers, Spencer Donaldson and Abraham (Anita) Donaldson; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends who all loved him dearly. Special friends, Lillian Winkfield (mother of his son) of Frankfort, KY, Michael Hopson, Columbus Stephens, Big Sam and Sylvester Eason.

Professional arrangements entrusted to W.E. Lusain Funeral Home & Crematory.
