Lester Lee Richard, 82, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at his home.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late Archie and Cellie Keith Richard. He was of the Baptist faith, a veteran of the US Army, a member of Creedmoor Lodge 499 and was a retired superintendent at Duke Golf Course in Durham.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Dr. Marc Tilley and Rev. Alvin Thomas. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Surviving are his wife of fifty nine years, Ella G. O’Neal Richard of the home, two daughters, Susan R. Dickerson (Jim) of Oxford, Pamela R. McFalls of Creedmoor, two sons, Randy L. Richard of Creedmoor, Donnie Richard of Louisburg by a previous marriage, two sisters, Christine R. Ross and Betty Lou Ellington, both of Creedmoor, four brothers, Bobby Richard, Donald Richard, Otis Richard, all of Creedmoor, Harold Richard of Wake Forest, twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Junior, Charlie and Ray Richard.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.
