Obituary

Libby Lou (Orsborn) McCloskey, of Maydelle, passed away in peaceful sleep on March 10th.   She is survived by her husband and best friend of almost 50 years, John McCloskey.   Libby was born to Cora and Otis Orsborn in Edgewood, Texas in 1936.  She was salutatorian of her graduating class.  She played the piano and the organ.  She loved roses, african violets and orchids; gardening, sewing, reading, the Dallas Cowboys and Nascar.  She worked 20 years as an executive assistant at Lone Star Gas in Dallas and, after moving to East Texas in 1978, worked as both a legal assistant and medical transcriptionist.  She worked alongside her husband sacrificially caring for abandoned, neglected and abused animals until her stroke two years ago.


She dearly loved her family and many will remember her intelligence, great sense of humor and ability to learn almost anything.   She is survived by her children: Daughter, Cindy Mullanix and husband, Greg, of Conifer, Colorado; Son, Bruce Tindell of Longview, Texas and Son, Chris McCloskey and Brad Bailey of Glenwood Springs, Colorado.  She also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Angela, Mike and Brock Riley of Sachse, Texas; April Faughn and Ashlyn Saab of Rowlett, Texas; Alicia, Darren, Thurston and Violet Stemmerman of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Casie Mullanix of Littleton, Colorado and Wayne and Caitlyn Mullanix of Dallas, Texas.  She will be missed.
