This memorial website was created in memory of our mother,
Lilia (Lily) Gotiangco, who was loved by so many. Due to the current limitations,
family and friends will be invited to a celebration of Lily’s life at a later
date. In the meantime, please share your stories of Lily. We would love to read

On day, May date, 2020 Lilia (Lily) Gotiangco, 77, of Bethesda,
MD, passed away from COVID-19 while in rehabilitation for Lewy’s Body Disease.
Born September 6, 1942, in the Philippines, Lily was the
beloved mother of four sons, Gilroy Gotiangco (Harriet) of Germantown, MD,
Gener Gotiangco (Jane) of Bethesda, MD, Edgardo Gotiangco (Brooklyn, NY), and
Gil (Kim) of Rockville, MD. She was “Lola” to her grandchildren, Megan and
Brandon, Gideon and Gillian, and Gabriel and Isabella, who she adored with all
her heart. Lily was predeceased by her parents Venancia Guinto and Delores Aquino and brother Edgardo.
Her sons, Gilroy and Gener, were blessed to have had the
opportunity to be by her side on her last days, holding her hand, and expressing
their eternal gratitude for her love and care throughout their lives. They were
also fortunate to have been able to care for her and make her final years as
comfortable and worry-free as possible. Visits from her sons and grandchildren brought
her great joy during these challenging times and those visits are memories all
cherish.
Lily loved her family and spent many years putting her four
son’s needs and dreams first, working multiple jobs so they could attend the
best schools and have the advantages she hoped a life in America would provide.
She was a hard worker, an amazing cook and baker, a voracious reader, and a
friend to all she met. Most of all, she loved her sons and grandchildren and
took great pride in all their accomplishments and pursuits. Her strong Catholic faith helped her throughout her life and during these final days. We will miss her
greatly but are comforted knowing she is in peace with her Loving Father in
Heaven.
