Grandmother as I knew.

February 9, 2014

She was a no nonsense, kind, sweet, will cuss you out if you if you messed with her or her family. My Grandmother was hard working woman with little education. She worked the fields picking cotton, cleaning houses etc.She was born in Inverness, Ms. her siblings was Willie Mae White, Jessie Mae White-Paul and Porch Howard. I called her Momma because she had her last daughter Patricia 5 days before I was born, My mom had me very young so I thought me and Pigg was twins lol and that she was my Mom that's  until I was old enough to know the difference. She was amazing despite her battles with Mental Illness. She took us to get Baptized she often called it Going to get your religion. I remember how strong she was, we would fold clothes up in a sheet, tie them,  then walk to the washer(laundromat). My fondest memory of Momma was when she took us to  Mr.Patenotte's grocery store she let me and my Aunt Patricia take turn in picking the cereal. She was a very clean and neat woman and dressed so sharp. Her favorite song was "thrill is gone" by BB King. Me and my Uncle James Earl figured she was dedicating that song to my Grandfather Carter Eubanks Jr. her one true love but they were divorced and still remain friends till the end. he passed away in June 2005, we never told her but I think she knew. She was well known in the town of Yazoo City, Ms. She always paid her tabs at Webbs Pharmacy, King cleaners etc. She often took me and my Aunt Patricia and my cousins with her to The Blue Flame(family buisness) to play and viist Madea Sophronia Bryant-Eubanks Great Grandaddy Carter EubanksSr., Ma Rosie, Aunt Tansy, Liza Ann, Aunt Bug, Aunt Big Sis, Uncle Joe.to name a few was there. Man these were some great times. We all miss her dearly. She would welcome many in her home to eat or stay. She made homemade biscuits from scratch and I was fond of her pinto beans and her delicious greens and not to forget the bacon withe the cracklin skin on it! Shady Lane Apts.5C never will forget it! Thanks Grandma for everything you taught me, I love you always and forever Gone Too Soon!!!!!!!!!!!! You will always be my inspiration in whatever i seek to do in life. Her final resting place is Cypress Gardens Cemetary in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
