Lillie Mae Hopson Moss was born in Falcon, Arkansas on November 20, 1927, to the late Rosie Hopson (Williams) and Anainas Hopson. She was the sister of the late O.D., Daisy, Freddie, Dixie, and Ollie (Marie), and is the sister to Letha Bradford of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
When she was very young, her mother divorced Anainas and later married Hester Williams, who was instrumental in her childhood development. From this union she became the sister to her brothers, Thomas (Freddie) and Willie (both of Dallas, Texas). She was also the step sister to one sister and four brothers all who preceded her in death.
Lillie was an exceptional student who loved school. She attended Sanders Elementary School and Oak Grove High School. She excelled in all subjects, but her favorite subjects were reading, which was a life long passion, and math, which was a very useful when helping her own children with their homework.
Her early years were eventually spent on the farm that her mother and stepfather owned. She often told wonderful stories of days spent playing, swiming, and working on the farm with her siblings and other neighborhood children. From those experiences, she formed a life-long friendships that she cherished for the span of her life.
She was loving mother of 12 children, a devoted wife of 63 years (Frank Moss) until his death on June 27, 2008, a church mother, spiritual mother, and a friend to all who knew her.
