Her Life
June 19, 2016

Mrs. McCormick was born in Lowell, Georgia on April 3, 1945, the daughter of the late Ella Mae Cheeves Shadinger and Albert Watt Shadinger. She was married to the love of her life, the late, Reverend Junior McCormick with whom she joined in serving in his ministry the God they loved. They traveled religiously, week after week, all the way to Kingston, Georgia to minister to the people of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Holiness Church. She used her lovely singing voice in their ministry by sharing with the congregation her love of Gospel music. Other than her dedication to her Lord, her main calling was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. She devoted her every waking moment to serving others. She loved having her family gather in their home for her wonderful home cooked meals. They were especially fond of her banana pudding! Sewing was a special gift of hers and she spent many hours creating beautiful hand sewn items for her loved ones. She enjoyed growing beautiful flowers in their yard which she loved sharing with others. If she ever had and earthly weakness it would have been her fondness for cats. She could never turn one away. Whether it was human or animal she had a gentle soul who enjoyed ministering to others. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Bohannon of Whitesburg, GA.; two sons, Jamie McCormick (Celeta) also of Whitesburg, GA., and Jody McCormick (Michele) of Roopville, GA.; two sisters, Louise Hall (Joe) of Tyus, GA., and Lucille Chatman (Huel) of Bowdon, GA.; nine grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
