Linda began her life on March 14, 1959, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the second daughter of Eugene and Lucille Amos.
The family relocated to Detroit, Michigan in 1972. Linda was educated in the Detroit Public school system. As a teenager she worked in the family’s party store. Her graduation was from Cass Technical High school in 1976. As a young woman, Linda began her working career for the city of Detroit. During her employment there, she held various positions and retired after many years of service.
Linda was baptized and joined the Second Corinthian Baptist Church. Linda married Don Hambrick, on May 28, 1983. To that union, two daughters were born, Jasmine and Whitney. Linda encouraged the girls to be active in Sunday school and other activities, when they united with Greater Southern Missionary Baptist Church.
Linda was a true hearted Boston Celtics fan. She looked forward to attending the Stephens Family reunion, every summer. Later on, in life, Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends, no matter where they were.
Celebrating and cherishing her memories are: her devoted mother Lucille Lloyd, two loving daughters Jasmine Brown, Whitney Martin (Chris), three grandchildren Janiyah, Dorian and Riley, one sister Debbie Amos-Onwuegbuna, brother-in-law Michael Onwuegbuna and only niece Stephanie Onwuegbuna; as well as many cousins and numerous friends.
Expression of Gratitude
In our hour of sorrow, we witnessed an outpouring of support from family and friends alike. In gratitude and appreciation, we wish to thank you for all acts of kindness shown including phone calls, text messages, food, prayers, visits and love shown during the passing of Linda. There is a saying, “People will forget what you did. They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
May God bless you with an abundance of His Blessings!
Thank you,
The family
