Sister Reese was such a Beautiful encouraging Sister and a great friend to my mom we grew up in the same Kingdom hall together she was such a Jazzy dresser, nice and sweet and fun to be around, I would always look for her at the assembly to see what she had on because I knew between her and my mom she was going to look super cute. Sister Reese will be deeply missed.❤

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal: love leaves a memory no one can steal.
I’m looking forward to seeing my niece Cookie again very soon, along with all my family members I have lost. Jehovah’s promise at John 5:28, 29 will be a reality very soon. - Auntie Marian ❤️

There’s a special place in all our hearts for our mothers, just like there’s a special place in every mother‘s heart for her children. No one can replace your mom but Jehovah can comfort your hearts, he knows what you need during this time much better than anyone else.
Jehovah promised that we will see Cookie in paradise very soon. - Love Sylvia

I didn't personally know Sis Reese, but her family is the reason our family serves Jehovah. My mother and Sis Reese went to elementary school together. May my dear sister's family find comfort in Jehovah's everlasting and loving arms and know that you're in the thoughts and prayers of many.

Her Life
February 2, 2022
Linda Reese who was affectionately referred to as “Cookie” by her family was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 20,1942 to Velma and James Gilstrap. Linda graduated from Northeastern High School in 1961. Shortly, after she began working as a Dietary Aid at Detroit Memorial Hospital. She continued to work as a Dietary Aid until 1989 at Mount Carmel Hospital now known as Sinai Grace Hospital.

Linda was known for her love of working in the yard, decorating her house, and enhancing her thrift store finds by putting her own unique spin on them. Although she was quiet, she wasn’t afraid to tell you what she wanted and how she wanted them. Her laid back demeanor led many people to take to her and become her friend.

Linda met and married the late Mitchell Reese Jr and to this union they had 5 children LaTrease Perry, LaTonia Reese, LaMisha (Nathaniel) Dockery, Mitchell Reese III who preceded her in death, and Mark Reese. In addition, she was blessed to have 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren Matthew Reese, Krystal Chattam (Hazel), Bianca Perry (Mila), Evonna & Milano Garland (Callie & Croix), Terrell Dockery (Aubrey), Jalen Dockery, and Kayla Reese (Milo). Whom she loved and cherished.

Linda became a dedicated baptized servant of Jehovah God on January 1, 1954, at the young age of 11 years old. Her love for Jehovah was evident because everyone she met got to learn about Jehovah. Though her ministry was sometimes limited she used every occasion to talk about Jehovah and witness about the wonderful hope for the future.

She was faithful and put up a hard fight to the end. On January 23, 2022, she fell asleep in death, evermore confident in the hope of a resurrection and a paradise earth. (Revelation 21,3,4).

She leaves to cherish loving memories, her sister Brenda (Ronnie) Hawkins, brothers James (Lynn) Gilstrap, David Cherry, Dennis (Patricia) Cherry and a host of family and friends.

TO MY LOVED ONES

February 2, 2022
When I fall asleep in death, please do not cry to long.

Because it will only be a short time.

When I’ll reach out and comfort you and hold you all near.

When we all will say life without end at last.

May you continue to pray to Jehovah and hold him close to your hearts.

Love you all!

Your mother and G-ma

We are so sorry to hear about Sis Reese passing!
I remember when I was younger, Sis Reese was a jazzy Sister with blonde hair and her and her children went to the same BookStudy as it was called back in the eighties and from that we met her beautiful daughters Latrease, LaTonia and Misha and Mitch and their cousin Dana ❤️
May you all draw comfort in knowing Sister Reese is in Jehovah's memory and we all look forward to the time when HE will call and our loved ones who are in a deep sleep will awaken and look for all of us! Our thoughts and Prayers and deepest condolences are with you all.
