Linda Anderson Whitt was born June 2, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Rogers and Rosie Lee Anderson. She was the fourth of five children born to this union. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Friendship Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend McDole.
Linda attended Birmingham City Schools and graduated from historic Western Olin High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanics University in Huntsville, Alabama.
It was there that she met the love of her life, the late Gary Keith Whitt, Sr. As the couple fell in love, they had no idea what God had in store for their futures. After serving as an associate minister and a pastor, God gave Gary Keith Whitt, Sr. the vision to start a new church in Birmingham, AL named Calvary Resurrection Christian Church. As God revealed His purpose to Pastor Gary Keith Whitt, Sr., Linda firmly stood by his side. The couple ran with the vision God gave them taking Birmingham by storm.
In February 1997, Pastor Gary Keith Whitt, Sr. took his place in heaven and watched over his favorite girl from above. It was during this transition, that Linda encountered the biggest challenge of her life- a calling to serve as the Senior Pastor of Calvary Resurrection Christian Church. For the next two decades, she continued the great work of leading a congregation and God's people to the Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Linda Whitt was called and committed to helping people build a solid relationship with the Lord as they learned to walk by faith and not by sight.
Continuing the vision of the late Pastor Gary Keith Whitt, Sr., Linda remained in strong covenant relationship under the leadership of Dr. Creflo Dollar of World Changers Church International of College Park, Georgia. Pastor Whitt was a proud member of the Creflo Dollar Ministerial Association, holding the title of The Queen of CDMA.
Pastor Linda Whitt peacefully departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 23, 2018. She will be remembered for her exceptional, practical teaching, ministerial leadership, and her optimistic approach to living life for Jesus Christ without compromise.
Cherishing her memory are: three children- Anton Whitt, Gary Keith Whitt, Jr, and Denika Whitt-McCall and Brandon A. McCall (son-in-love); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers- Rogers Anderson, Jr., Wendall Nickerson, and Michael Whitt; sisters- Wendolyn Anderson, Betty Bishop, Diane Colvin, and Margaret Price; Ola Jean Scott (mother-in-love); a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and, of course, the best church on this side of heaven- Calvary Resurrection Christian Church.
Our world has been illumined by God’s own Light- Pastor Linda Anderson Whitt. We move forward in The Lord knowing "ALL IS WELL".
