Grandma

February 4, 2019

This is not a story but a thank you note to Linda.

You've been a positive person in the lives of all whom were fortunate to know you.  As one of the strongest women in my life, I've truly appreciated the integrity and character you always portrayed. As a mother you were always there for your children, all of us.  As a grandmother, you made every grandchild feel like the most important person in the world.  You never shied away from challenges, overcome any obstacle in your way and did it with grace. The amount of friends from your youth to adulthood that you kept in touch with is remarkable, which speaks volumes for your love of relationships and family.

I'll miss our conversations about the trials of public education in the great state of California, I still don't know if we solve anything, but it was great dialogue.  By the way, I think Aunt Boski had the best experience, "The Vallejo Experience."  As a teacher, coach, and counselor, you improved the lives of thousands of kids that got to know you.  There is no doubt in mind that you "Made a Difference."  Sorry about all those years of stirring up the pot at family gatherings, but I knew that when conversation got slow, all I had to do is say the word "politics."

We'll all miss the family holidays that you taught us to cherish, I mean what would thanksgiving be like without everyone gathered around the turkey, waiting for the darn thing to cook. Of course what made it special was not the turkey, it was all the fixings.  Just kidding, it was the family time.  Uncle Jojo always has a great story, Aunt Boski laughing, Uncle Bill bringing the ham, Ben making some new dish, Aunt Becky wanting to know what's new, Matty wondering why there are so many dishes, the kids all running around with cabin fever and Kristen and I wondering "who's idea was this?" We know in the end, that all the holidays are times to cherish each other and enjoy the time we have. Trust me, your still going to be with us at holidays.

We have been fortunate to have had you in our lives, the role model that you are, you led this family by example, you made decisions with your heart and you loves us all unconditionally.

You have been a great influence in all of our lives, Kristen, Katie, Jay, Linnae, Elin and I have truly appreciated everything you have done for us.  Our lives are better because of you.

There is so much to say to you, but nothing as important as you knowing I love you!

Love you GMA,

Pete's

Linda was my friend and Sister-in-Law for over 50 years.  She loved her children and family very much. Even though we didn’t see each other often, I followed the family through letters and pictures.  Bless and keep you Linda.  You will always be in my heart
