In June of 2011, Liz was the first senior to enroll in the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) "Senior Program". She was assigned a volunteer, Sabitre Rodriguez, who enjoyed companion visits with her and in no time at all they became great friends, with Liz referring to Sabitre as the "daughter she never had" and Sabitre referring to Liz as her "other mother".

After years of living in Sacramento, Liz moved to Palmdale, CA in November of 2013. So many of her Sacramento friends missed her but some managed to visit or stay in touch by phone.
