His Life
May 2, 2019

My Dad was born in the humble little town of Carroll Plantation, Maine. It was a great joy for him and his brother, Mom and Dad to live on the farm. Life was simple and pure back then.  He had to get up at the crack of dawn to milk the cows and do other chores on the farm before going to school.  He and his brother got into mischief as boys do while doing work on the farm.  Carroll Plantation became a very special place for the whole family.  As we were growing up we spent days picking berries of all types.  In the Fall, we would take our yearly trip to fall trees and cut wood for the fireplace.  We were out in all kinds of weather but we did not care.  We were all together working on what we needed to do.  Our bond was tight and we enjoyed each other's company.  Dad loved the outdoors.  He always took a camera with him to get shots of wildlife and his wood projects.  Dad was a working class kind of man.  He drove log truck for several different local logging companies and had his trade in automobile mechanics as well.  Worked for Cole Whitney Ford for a few years in the early days when we were kids.  In this area of the country, you need to be flexible and open to different work opportunities as our town is a small town with original families settled in this area.
