Bob passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. He had been residing in NC for the past twelve years and in Oxford for nine. He was born in Washington, DC.

He is survived by his loving Mother and Father, Juanita and Harold Willey, his daughter, Kristen Shepherd, whom he loved dearly. His brother, Larry Shepherd, his sisters, Sherry Dowgos and Candace McGuckin, all of Delaware, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by sisters, Sue Shepherd, Iona Zellman, Lori Short and brother, Joseph Miles.

Bob enjoyed visiting with his family and friends as well as the love of the outdoors, traveling, camping, fishing, the ocean, movies, dining out, cooking, going to yard sales, golf, watching his Redskins and Phillies teams win, sitting outside with some coffee, while enjoying the weather, with his dogs and cats around him. He was a fan of country music, Motown classics and old fashioned rock and roll. He was always there with a helping hand and heart when needed.

He was a member of the American Legion and proud to have served as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War. He had a strong faith in God and Heaven above. Before retirement he worked with Oxygen For You and Linecare, both of which required quite a bit of traveling. He met many good friends along the way, including the wonderful relationships he made in Oxford. Bob will be missed by all whose heart he touched, even in a small way. He had a loud voice to match his big heart and quick laugh.

His Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford at 12:00 Noon. You can come casual, as Bob would have wanted it.
