I knew Loistine for many years through my Brother in Love, Kenny and from fellowship with Unity Bibleway Church. Loistine was one of the kindest, smartest, and loyalist persons I know. She loved the Lord, her family and friends’ with her whole heart. I considered her my Sister and she the same for me. Loistine’s character was that of a loving and caring spirit for those she met in her lifetime. She was a very educated woman who sought excellence in all of her endeavors in life. She loved God and served Him wholeheartedly, not making excuses for her frailties of life, but continually seeking how to serve Him more. I love Loistine and will always love her even in her physical absence on Earth. I’m praying for Mom Baker, Kenny and Earl and the rest of the Baker Family that God will continue to comfort your hearts. Love Always, Netta.

OBITUARY: THE LIFE OF A TRUE CHILD OF GOD
Loistine Marie Baker a resident of Baltimore, Md. She was born in Skippers Virginia To Emmett and Kathleen Baker on June 15, 1952. Preceding her in death was her brother Ervin Baker the year of 1970. Her Father preceded her in death on May 31, 2016. Loistine made her transition from this life on February 22, 2021 while at the Genesis Heritage Rehab Center.

Her foundation in life was her faith in Jesus Christ. While living on Booth Street. As a little girl, her Parents took her and her brothers to church every Sunday to Central Baptist Church. She was Baptized there as a young girl, later as an adult Loistine sang on the Mass Choir there. Rev Montague Bracket was the Pastor at the time. At a young age she was blessed by all the singing, Sunday School Classes and Biblical Plays which played a major role in her faith in God. When her Parents moved to Thomas Ave, She and her brothers later became members of the Unity Bible Way Church, joined the Voices of Unity Young People’s Choir where they all committed their lives to serving the Lord.

Loistine has always been an excellent student in the world of academia with straight A’s in most of her studies as a high school student. After graduating from Douglass Senior High school, she worked many years for the State as a secretary. As the years progressed Loistine found herself faced with many physical challenges which left her bed ridden most of the time. But she didn’t allow those challenges to stop her from furthering her education.

She perused studies at Stratford Career Institute where she was awarded two Diploma’s; one for Legal Assistant / Paralegal and the other for Child Psychology. Loistine also received a diploma in Advanced Biblical Studies from the world-renowned Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia.

This is what her Mother had to say about her Daughter. I Loved my Daughter Loistine so very much, even more so now. I’ve seen her study for many hours, from her bed to achieve her well-deserved certificates and diploma’s. I’m so proud of her. Her presence will be missed. Not seeing her here physically anymore makes me sad, but I know she’s in a better place. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
