Tina Boatright Johnson
This memorial website was created in the memory of my dear grandmother Lola C. (Higgins) Ball who was born on May 15, 1903 and passed away on March 24, 1977. She will never be forgotten. She is interred in the New Hope Baptist Church cemetery in the Wayside Community of Carroll County next to her husband of 40 years, Gordon Hoxie Ball. She is survived by her son Gordon Howell Ball of Carroll County, ( Her daughter of a prior marriage, Dartha Jean (Higgins) Chance predeceased her in July of 1966.) , 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Grandma's Kitchen Table
Wayside Women's Club
That's grandma (third from right on the front row). I used to know most all the names but now you'll have to figure it out for yourself. My mother (Dot) is first on the right of the back row. Phillis Washington is directly behind the woman to grandma's right and her mother (sorry I cant remember her name) is just over Phillis' left shoulder. Most of these were members of Wayside Baptist Church (and ALL of them were wonderful cooks...oh my word...dinner on the grounds was an occasion that was NOT to be missed.)
Birthday Party
One of Gordon's birthdays and grandma had fixed a wonderful lunch. Heck just one of her "cat-head" biscuits would fill you up but I see what looks like corn and mashed potatoes and either pear halves or deviled eggs. 'bet there was some fried chicken closer to the camera and of course her kitchen was never without sweet ice tea. -- funny she never had diabetes.
Actually, this may have been taken in Howell's house.. whatever.
She always had teacakes when we would visit when I was 5 to 18.
