Her Life
September 2, 2016

Miss Genton was born June 10, 1928 in Delray, FL to the late Montez Jesse Genton and Ila Mae Bartels. She was a Seventh Day Adventist by faith. After graduating from Southern Adventist University with a degree in education, she dedicated her life to educating elementary school students, retiring after almost 40 years of service. Her craft took her to several private schools, including a six year stint at a Seventh Day Adventist school in Thailand. Wherever she went, she passed on a love of music to her students. She was a very talented musician, and learned to play several instruments including the violin, accordion, and the piano. She served as the organist at Zephyr Hills Church for many years. She recently moved to the Franklin area to live closer to family. The love and support of her brother and sisters were a comfort in her final months.

Survivors include: five sisters: Emily Austin of Franklin, Alice Whitt (Don) of Athens, AL, Mary Scheibe (Robert) of Franklin, Dena Wery (Ellsworth) of Phenix City, AL, and Marleen Young (Lloyd) of Franklin; one brother, Marc Genton (Velda) of Franklin; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
