BIOGRAPHY OF EZINNE LOLO MARGARET NWANYIUGBO ODOEMENA-OGUGUA (1930-2021)
Ezinne Lolo Margaret Nwanyiugbo Odoemena-Ogugua was born to the family of Mr. Ihuoma and Mrs Ubadionu Emengaha of Umuchima, Umuawada Onicha Ezinihitte LGA Mbaise, Imo State Nigeria on the 11th day of September, 1930.

She had her primary school education at Holy Rosary School Ogbor Nguru, Mbaise between 1944 and 1950 where she completed and passed her standard six examination in flying colours. She was one of the best among the first set of young girls that went to school in Umuawada Onicha at the time when the condition for training the girl child in school was based on selection of the best amongst the brilliant.

As a young girl, she faced the trauma of losing her dear mother to the cold hands of death through small pox infection in 1949. To make the matter worse, was the fact that she did not have the opportunity to witness where and how she was buried.

In 1951, she was sent to Holy Rosary School Amakohia, Ihitte Afoukwu by Rev. Sister Mary Cullman where she taught for one year before she got married in 1952 with high hopes; only for her hope to be dashed by the sudden death of her husband while she was three months pregnant of her first son, Chukwuma.

However, life smiled at her again, when she later got married to Chief Ambrose Odoemena-Ogugua (Agadagbachiri Uzo 1) of Eziudo Mbaise. The marriage was blessed with seven children who have all excelled in their various fields through her courage, persistence, hard work and endurance.

She relocated to London in 1992 after the death of her husband to live with her first daughter, Mrs. Cecilia Olujie Ibe, whom she stayed with, until January 2021, when she went to be with the lord.

Until her death, she remained faithful and committed to her Catholic faith serving God and humanity and passionately doing her corporal works of mercy by supporting and helping her fellow women, the poor and vulnerable, to rise above their original state in every way she could. She was an ardent giver who never failed to share the little she had with the needy in every capacity.

While in London, she dedicated her life to charity and still stayed connected to her root. She never left her church dues/levies unpaid till death. A commitment which earned her the award of Ezinne title by the Christian Women Organization of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Eziudo, Mbaise in 2011. She was a strong pillar of support to her family, church, friends and people who came across her. She used her Godly endowed golden voice to praise God and led Umunebia Women Dance Group during her time.

Ezinne Lolo Margaret Nwayiugbo Odoemena-Ogugua lived her life to the fullest as God compensated her pains and losts with more joyous years, under the proper care and affection of all her children, who live in London and USA where she travelled to severally. She is survived by children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

It is hard to say goodnight to a real mother and rare gem indeed. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, relatives and those who knew her.
