Her Life

     Loni McGrath, 54, of Norton, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Loni leaves behind her devoted sons Jordan M. Mallor and Ian M. Mallor, both of Norton.
     Born in Syracuse, New York, on December 3, 1957, she was a loving daughter of Harold H. McGrath, Jr.  and the late Patricia A. (Roden) McGrath.
     Loni grew up and was educated in Cazenovia, New York, and was a 1976 graduate of Cazenovia High School. She furthered her studies and earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
     A resident of Norton for the past 20 years, and formerly of Amherst, Loni had worked for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank for the past 8 years and was an Agency Relations Manager. She had previously been employed at the Conservation Law Foundation and at Oxfam America, both in Boston.
     Growing up, she attended the First Presbyterian Church in Cazenovia with her family. Since residing in Norton, Loni had become a member of the Land Preservation Society of Norton and volunteered at the Oak Knoll Sanctuary in Attleboro. She was also a former Peace Corps volunteer.
     Loni’s favorite activities were birding, gardening, tennis, being outdoors, and spending time with her children, family, and friends.
In addition to her sons, Loni is survived by her father Harold and his partner Marylyn Paul, her siblings Trip McGrath and his wife Kathe of Tucson, AZ, Tracey McGrath and her partner Ross Gale of Andover, MA, and Cheryl McGrath and her husband Robert Miller of Austin, TX.  Loni was the cherished aunt of Ryan McGrath and Carissa McGrath. She was the former wife of Gunar Mallor of Norton, father of Jordan and Ian.
      
      Services and burial were held privately. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
