I can’t believe it has been 3 years since this tragedy... I recall so many moments we had, you were a huge part of my childhood and adolescence. You were always at our house for visits, holidays, birthdays, fishing tournaments, etc. I miss those days so much. I’m glad we had so many deep conversations in the years leading to your death, I hope you’re finally at peace with everything. I imagine you, mom, and dad are fishing a lot these days. Love you and miss you.

Wish you would have made it back to Florida to finish out your days like you wanted to... love you and miss our SUNDAY night chats

I will always remember Lonnie and his one of a kind character.
He was a top notch classy dresser . I remember him in that big Lincoln Continental the first time I met him. He was Carls best friend and they both thought the world of each other.
They had a blast always no matter if they were fishing or golfing . Carl and Lonnie and and my brother Rickie , brother in laws Dave and Jim had a blast on the golf course. Lonnie was serious about his golf though . One time i was in the golf cart and was talking when he tried to tee off , Oh man , I'll never forget he stopped and yelled , " I thought we came out here to golf not talk all day . Whoa ! He was funny though if he shanked the ball he would throw his clubs . Carl and the guys got a kick out of him he was so serious on the course.
When they fished no one wanted to ride with him cause the boat was going so fast it barely touched the water. He kept that boat airborne . I will never forget the fishing memories of him and Carl it was their life.
He was definitely heartbroken upon Carl's death as we all were . I know he took it really really hard, he Loved Carl like his brother. I am still so sorry for how things may have been and all that has been missed , life is hard and the changes are too! So sad still.
I would like to thank him for his brave service to his country. His bravery I am sure will not be forgotten. His awards and medals are awesome .
May you RIP in heaven Lonnie , free at last and reunited with all your beloved family and at peace with the Lord!
Love and prayers

Though many years have passed since the last time I saw Lonnie, I thought of him so often thru the years. The laughter and the fun times that took place with him, Carl and Marsha. I never wanted to be any place else but where they were. Trips fishing, going to the fair, out to eat and just hanging out with them, though Lonnie was older and most young people don't want to hang around Older people that was not the case with Lonnie, he was ageless. I never wanted to be anywhere but at the Sande's. He made the simplest days awesome. The memories I have I will hold dear to me. I honor him as a Vietnam Veteran, they never received the recognition they deserved. He loved his brother's of war.  May he always know how many lives he touched and how much happiness he spread where ever he went. My husband Dave & brother Rickie have so many crazy fishing and Golf stories. You are and will be missed! Sure wish you could have come home to Florida for a visit.  May God Speed!
