ForeverMissed

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Lori Heath, 55 years old, born on January 31, 1964 and passed away on March 31, 2019. We will remember her forever.

It is with great sadness we announce that Lori Ann Heath, our dear daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 31, 2019. Lori spent many of her childhood years in various states as the child of a military family, but the bulk of those years in Swansea and Fall River Massachusetts. She gave birth to her two sons Aaron and Bradley in Fall River and made the long journey by bus across the country to join her mother and sisters and settle in the Seattle area in 1994. It was not long after arriving on the West Coast that she focused her energy on enrolling in school and studying for a career to support her family of three. She studied to be a medical assistant and has worked in that field for 20+ years, the majority for Providence Medical Group.

Lori was a passionate person and put her energy into things that meant the most to her. Lori's commitment to living her life on her own terms was admirable; she lived life fearlessly and rarely said no to a new adventure. Family was Lori's greatest passion. She was first and foremost the mom to two precious sons. She proudly watched as they played soccer, participated in school plays and even hosted tea parties for them.  She delighted in sharing with them the 4th of July fireworks, Easter egg hunts and the magic of Christmas. She loved watching them find love and choose the women they would share their lives with. She basked in the joy of being a grandmother.  She was, as she liked to say, a sister by chance, but a friend by choice.  Lori was one of 5 sisters with whom she shared a deep bond.  She was always willing to lend an ear and was a loving, empathetic friend. She never missed an opportunity to hug someone, thank someone or check in on them. She was loved by her friends at work and so were her cakes that she made to celebrate her co-workers birthdays. Most of us will have texts with pictures of her many baking creations, probably with unanswered questions about secret ingredients. She was a favorite aunt that didn't even question that she was no longer a teenager herself, she just jumped right in and joined the fun. And no memorial about Lori would be complete without mentioning her passion for dancing - oh how Lori loved to dance.

Lori will be joining her Mother, Jackie Heath, Grandparents, Olive and Mac Vieira, as well as a baby son, Robert Jay Heath who all passed before her.

Left to carry Lori's spirit -and we will- are her sons Aaron and his wife Ilia, their children Kai and Malia,  Brad and his wife Danielle, her father Paul Fontaine, her sisters Robin Rodrigues and her husband Chris, Kristy Estes and wife Shana, Donna Fontaine, Sandy Thorsen and her husband Dave and a scattering of nieces and nephews, Amber, Haley, Becca, Chelsea, Stephen, Katie, Maggie, Joe and Jessie.

The family wants to thank everyone for the outpouring of support, prayers and thoughts during this difficult time. The love and kindness they have received is a testament to how many lives she touched and the kind person she was.

A celebration of Lori's life will be held on Sunday, June 30, at the Lake Forest Park Civic Club from 2:00 to 4:30. The address is 17301 Beach Drive, Lake Forest Park, WA 98155. Parking is available on site and overload parking across Bothell Way at the Towne Center.

I remember the first time I met my sister-in-law. January of 1987 when I first started dating Robin Rodrigues. Lori was over 8 months pregnant with my nephew Aaron and came home from work. As expected, she was in no mood for visitors but she still scared me. Then right before Robin and I married, Lori brought another nephew, Brad, into this world. Robin and I eventually moved across the country and within a couple of years Lori moved herself and 2 boys across the country and lived with us while looking for a job and apartment.

Over the course of 32 years I have had the blessing of sharing so many life events with her. Even though I have "sister-in-laws" and a "brother-in-law" I have realized that after 3 decades, the term "in-law" disappears. I lost a sister and will miss her.

It's so hard to let you go
Cuz I know I'll never see you again.
I didn't want to see you leave
And say goodbye to a friend.
But you left anyway
And took a part of me and all that I can say is
Its so hard to let you go

Auntie Lori, the magnificent soul that spent her life rightfully earning the title of “My Crazy Aunt” for all the right reasons, passed away decades too soon. She introduced me to Madea, for which I will forever be indebted to her. No matter what life threw at her, she handled it with a level of grace, humor, and strength that never ceased to amaze. She was the life of the party, yet selfless and loving. She took the definition of friendship, sisterhood, and family and turned it into something tangible. She fiercely cared for her friends and family, and we can only pray she knew that the same adoration was showered upon her in return. If there’s one thing that stands out above all the rest, it’s her independence. I always admired her fearless and unstoppable spirit, and hope that some of that rubbed off on me. Thanks for the lessons, memories, and laughter my Crazy Auntie Lori. You’re loved and missed more than you could ever know.

Lori and I shared a super bond when it came to prayer and talking about Jesus.  Lori always offered to pray for me, and I for her.  Lori volunteered so sweetly to make my step daughters wedding cake this summer.  This is the kind of help that Lori always offered.  I know in my heart she is dancing in heaven with Jesus, but not seeing her here every day, that will take along time for my heart not to ache.

Many prayers for comfort to Aaron and Brad, and also the whole family.
