Louis Douglas Jones, 93, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at his home.
Louis Douglas was a native of Halifax County Virginia and was the son of the late Rueben Louis Jones and Lena Winn Jones. He was a member of Hester Baptist Church and worked at Lee Dyeing Co. in Butner and retired from farming.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM at Hester Baptist Church on Monday April 29, 2019 by Rev. Jeff Hensley. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his dog Jazz , three daughters, Sheila J. Gresham (Doug) of Oxford, Diane J. Fairey (David) of Henderson, NC, and Connie J. Sullivan (Kevin ) of Raleigh, seven grandchildren, Neil Gresham (Lynn), Michael Gresham(Crystal) and Kelley G. Cash (Joey), David Fairey II (Heather Wright), all of Oxford, Nicole Munn (Chris) of Henderson and Megan and Mary Cole Sullivan of Raleigh, ten great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Neil Gresham, Isabell and Macie Gresham, Sammy and Kaleb Cash, Summer Fairey, Haven, Stella and Jones Munn. Also surviving are his nephews Bob Swann (Mary Ann) , Jeff Swann (Kathy) and Doug Swann (Star), great nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Kim Wilson, Angela Walker and Pat Gresham.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Jones, his sister Mildred Jones Swann and her husband Jim.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM Monday, April 29, 2019 in the fellowship hall of the church prior to the funeral.
