So sorry to read of Mr. Averett's passing. Our condolences to his family and friends.
Louis Elliott Averett, 84, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home.
Louis was born April 19, 1933 in Granville County to the late Charlie and Clara Averette. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, was a tobacco farmer, a constable for many years and retired as the Animal Control Officer for Granville County.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Marc Tilley. Burial will follow the service at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Oxford.
Surviving are his two daughters, Cathy Averette Eudy (Danny) and Betsy Dement of Creedmoor; daughter-in-law, Ellen Sadler Averette; two granddaughters, three grandsons and three great grandsons; and a special friend, Judy Hinkle of Creedmoor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Moss Averett; a son, David Averette; three sisters, Gladys Newton , Frances Cozart, Sadie Averette and four brothers, Floyd, Woodrow, Hubert, Elvin (Mutt) Averette.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, March 12, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
Flowers are kindly accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Youth Fund, P.O. Box 745, Creedmoor, N.C. 27522.

To Cathy, Danny and family. I always thought of Lewis as “my buddy”. He used to come by the house every morning around 9 or 10 and blow the horn on his way to Judy’s. He will be greatly missed.
