Working with Louis

May 14, 2016

Working with Louis for 12 years as my supervisor and when he took the big plunge to retire, I was selected to fill his shoes and big shoes they were. I remember the good times playing practical jokes during the work day Louis noted quote " You fellers I don't know what I am going to do with you guys", we always completed our projects on time and within budget, and had a great time.

Turkey

May 7, 2016

It was so enjoyable to cook special dinners for Aunt Sis and Uncle Lou. I think one of Uncle Lou's favorites was my turkey dinner, he always had seconds, and was so appreciative of the meal. We would haggle on who got to eat the popes nose ( tail of the turkey ) it always ended up with Uncle Lou. The meal ended with" I'm stuffed that was so good "with a big smile on his face.

Polka dances

May 7, 2016

So much fun at the many wedding dances in Kansas in the very young years. Elaine and Lou would always let me to go, and when I danced with Lou...I didn't need to know the steps. Lou just picked me up and my feet never touched the floor. I feel so blessed to have had Louis in my life! WHAT A WONDERFUL MAN. He will be missed.

Homemade Ice Cream

May 7, 2016

One of my favorite things about visiting Uncle Lou at the Dudley Avenue home in the summer was homemade ice cream. I remember he had an ice cream maker. Unfortunately, I also remember I was frequently the "power" for the ice cream maker. Being young, the entertainment value of constantly turning the ice cream maker ended fairly quickly. Luckily, Uncle Lou would take over when the nephew went missing.

Even though I never seemed to finish my cranking job, Uncle Lou always allowed me to partake in the finished product! It was always delicious!!

Dad & Sprinting

May 7, 2016

I was in junior high and thought I was pretty fast - challenged dad to a 100 yard sprint thinking there was no way he would beat me - well.....he kicked my butt. We took off and I never saw the front of him again :)
