This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Louis Turner Sr. 83 years old , born on November 21, 1935 and passed away on December 24, 2018. We will remember him forever.

Age 83, of Dayton, OH born Nov. 21, 1935, passed away December 24, 2018. Funeral service will be held 11am Jan. 5, 2019 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church 1900 W. Third Street Dayton, OH 45417. Visitation will be from 10 - 11am.

Louis “Dog T.” Turner Sr, 83, returned to his heavenly home on December 24, 2018 after a battle with Congestive Heart failure. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Louis was born to the late Jasper and Bessie Turner November 21, 1935 in Greenville, Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Martin “Marty” Turner and Gerald Turner. Brothers Lovell King, Charlie Webb and Mose Turner Sr. Sisters Annie Turner and Alberta Corbin.

At an early age he moved to Dayton, Ohio where he found his love of his life Beatrice King. He was a professional automobile detailer. He was an avid card player, he loved listening to the blues, loved sitting on the porch with neighbors, friends and family members. In the early 1950’s he volunteered to take in his sister and put her through school. He raised her as his own and she respected him as her father. Louis accepted Christ later in his life and was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Louis is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Beatrice Turner; two daughters Bernice Grisby of Chicago, IL and Joyce Buckingham; his sons Louis “Colleen” Turner Jr., Terry “Patricia” Turner all of Dayton; two sisters Lillian Towles and Susie Steele of Dayton, Ohio. Brother in-law Robert King of Atlanta, GA and three sister in-laws Louise Andrews of Vicksburg, MS, Mary Shepard of Jackson, MS, Savannah Turner of Greenville, MS and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
