Loy's Obituary

Loy A. Everett, 92 passed away Tuesday August 31, 2010 in Johnson City, Tennessee.

He was born April 20, 1918, in Bulloch County, Georgia, a son to the late James and Sarah (Hagan) Everett. He was the lone surviving sibling of twelve children.
 
Loy earned a Masters Degree in Agriculture and Animal Husbandry from the University of Georgia in 1942. After graduation, he served two years as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force during WWII. He then went on to pursue a successful career in agricultural sales. He retired in 1986 having reached the lofty position of Vice President for Commercial Solvents.  The company later became IMC and was headquartered in New York City, New York.

Loy was lucky to enjoy many years as a retiree living on Fripp Island, SC.  He took great pleasure in family get togethers, fishing, stock market investing, travel, and sharing his life stories.

Loy is survived by three sons and one daughter: Dean A Everett and  his wife Connie of Buckhannon, West Virginia, William “Bill” Everett and his wife Penny of Flower Mound, Texas, Linda Pritchard and her husband Bud of Johnson City, Tennessee, and James “Jim” Everett and  his wife Patty of Naugatuck, Connecticut.

He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Adrian Everett of Alexandria, Virginia, Rachel Everett of Rockville, Maryland, Tyson Coughlin of Charlotte, North Carolina, Taylor Everett of Buckhannon, West Virginia, Ashley and Russell Everett of Flower Mound, Texas, Tyler and Paige Breece of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jackie Kuzia of Torrington, Connecticut, Jill Everett of New Milford, Connecticut, Jamie Everett of Naugatuck, Connecticut, Nikki Pritchard of Cramerton, North Carolina, and Buddy Pritchard of San Diego, California.

One great grandchild, Christian Kuzia of Torrington, Connecticut also survives.

*Visitation and service will be Thursday September 9th, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Joiner Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro, Georgia followed by the internment at the New Hope Cemetery.
